In A Different Light

My name is Anne Rowlison. I live on a farm in northern New Mexico along with my daughter and numerous animal friends.

I’m an Idealist. I live with my head in the clouds most of the time, yet try to keep my feet on the ground as much as possible. I am somewhat bold and impulsive and, fortunately, the people in my life put up with that.

I have always been fascinated with nature, especially animals. Horses never cease to amaze me. They are such emotional beings and express their feelings so beautifully. Photographing horses has been a profound experience for me, and photographing mountains and people has been a subject of my deep study.

My work is done in film and is processed by machine. So, it is a tremendous sense of accomplishment when I get a good photograph, because I know that I took a good photograph. I have captured some of life’s simple pleasures, some beautiful places, some stark contrasts, and some awesome moments in time.

I hope my photos evoke feelings that are simple, clear and happy.
